With that said, this book is excellent. Dr. Cloud takes ten things that we all know are wrong, such as being a people pleaser and not being yourself, and walks us through why we need to stop doing these things and why. While at times the book is a little light HOW to stop being these ways, it does a great job of working through the arguments we use to stay stuck in these bad habits. Even for those of us who have done extensive work in some of these areas, this book is so clearly and convincingly written that it serves as a quick booster shot of healthiness.
I recommend this book to anyone struggling with an aspect of their life that just doesn't seem to be working, whether it is relationship, contentment, identity or disappointment. It is packed with good information presented in a God honoring fashion, helping you not just grow toward a healthier you but also connect with the God who enables that growth to happen.
I was given a copy of this book free from it's publisher in return for my honest review.
