Book Review: A Story of Christmas and All of Us by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett

A Story of Christmas and All of Us by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett is a beautifully illustrated and in depth look at the Christmas story.  Taken from the popular mini-series The Bible, the pictures are taken from the mini-series and are accompanied by a fleshed out account of the Biblical story of the nativity.  The "fleshing out" is done in the same style as the fleshing out was done in the movie, which was taking some logical guesses about lifestyles, motivations, etc. but staying true to the Biblical text.

Overall, I think this would make an excellent coffee table book or a book to get out each year at Christmas to remind one of what the Biblical story is really all about.  The details serve to take the romanticism that has developed over the years with the nativity story and places it back in the realm of an every day occurrence that was orchestrated by God to change the world.  This would make an excellent addition to anyone's holiday materials and would go a long way in restoring the spiritual intent of the season.

I was provided this copy free of charge in return for my honest review.
